    Suppressor purchase now?

Ready to pull the trigger (ahhhhhhhhhhh hahahahahha) on my suppressor now but curious to see if anyone has any first hand information on possible extended delays on checks due to the media craze with our recent tragedy.

I'm a little conscerened I could be throwing money into the air that may not be seen again......?

I set up my trust, put my name on a noveske sbr that hasn't even been made yet, and purchased a suppressor today. Trust should be ready within a week, and as soon as the mfr sends the dealer my guns serial number, all paperwork will be submitted to ATF. I am hoping and praying as much as you guys that all this blows over, or at least mine is in my possession before anything is passed. Got a lot tied up now for the gov to screw it up in the middle. (Btw, I was planning this purchase way before the recent events.)

The guy I spoke to at the dealer said that the ATF actually doubled the staff dealing with nfa stuff last week so wait times should be going down.

Times are getting shorter... U will have your stamps back before anything could be put in place... Just my 2 cents

I think you'll have long wait times because everyone will be getting one, but they would have to try to amend the National Firearms Act, not just enact new legislation, and I think that would be a HUGE task. Even in the last "assault" weapons ban NFA stuff never changed

I also heard the NFA staff doubled... But in light of recent events I wonder what that staff is doing...

1 DA Yankee screws up and it messes up the whole thing. That combined with the "news" and people are ALL up in Arms... Literally.

6 month wait seems to be the normal wait. I bought a suppressor in June, so it should be here really soon. SBR form one mailed the end of May and receive the stamp last week. Check with Silenced America for a suppressor. Scott is great guy to deal with.

It took right at 6 months for mine too. I think that is the norm. Trust seems to be the best way to go on this.

I believe they had 4 people covering a few states.

I just got my second stamp 2 weeks ago. That one took almost 7 months. The first one which was submitted last year also took 7 months. FYI

They are ok but they don't silence a weapon enough for all the hassle you have to go through to get them! Especially a semi auto weapon.

Really? My AR shooting supersonics is quieter than a 22 mag. 308 bolt gun is even quieter. What is the hassle? Getting finger prints? Passport photos? Sheriff sig might be a problem in some areas. Love not worrying about ear plugs!

When i talked to my atf guy he told me the reason they are so backed up is due to Texas letting you use cans for deer hunting. Applications are though the roof.

Yes you don't need ear plugs but the animals still hear you shoot. It's cool to have a can on the tip of hour gun but to me it just wasn't worth it. If you were able to fully silence a gun in Texas, that might be a different story.
