I love Capsticks books. He is a great story teller, but he had most of his adventures in a bar. Very few of the PH community have any respect for him.

Death on the Dark Continent is also good. Enjoy reading Capstick immensely.

I've not read a Capstick book i didn't enjoy. Pure greatness.

If you're into that type of reading, check out "The Maneaters of Tsavo", and "Ghosts of Tsavo". Two other great books.

Yep I have all his books and Ruarks...But they were really great at putting u into the adventure of the hunt...To Bad the only DEATH they stared down was the Bottle in front of them...Too bad a lot of writers have this same real life ending..Hemmingway was another.

The boys in the bush had a rather hazardous life, especially the PH's. I had a few beers in Maun wth Harry Selby, a few years ago.

I don't own any of his books, nor have I read any.

But I do remember when I was younger he would write an article (could have just been excerts from the books) for one of the hunting magazines my dad got. I could not wait for the next magazine to come so I could find out what happened next.

Never knew the guy was just a "story teller", thought it was personal experience. Had me fooled I guess.

He wasn't just a story teller, he was a PH, but then again some truths may have been stretch a bit
