A coon was eating corn about 10 yards from my tree stand. When I turned and looked at him, he saw me and stared at me for a few seconds. Then he slowly started making his way to my tree, and climbed up my ladder to my platform that I was standing on. He was just about to reach up to climb in with me when I said, "hey, what are you doing? You're not supposed to be up here. Get down." He protested with a hiss, turned around, and climbed back down. He never spooked. Just went right back to eating corn. This was a wild coon. No houses around. In the Trinity River bottom. Anything like that happen to you?

I had a coon a few weekends ago climb a tree about five foot away from the one I was in to get a look at me, too close for bow range and just a little too far to reach out and smack him with an arrow. He got the idea when he got eye level with me and threw my arms up, kinda lunged at him and said boo! I didn't know they could scurry down a tree so fast head first!
