    Arm the Teachers

Maybe this has been discussed already. If not...why not? Since 9/11 a ton of pilots have been trained and authorized for concealed carry. Arming pilots was a logical conclusion.

How come people instantly jump to increased gun control as the solution when it comes to school violence? Rational thought (vice emotion) points to arming the teachers as the obvious defensive solution, regardless of your political leanings.

A lot of people don't even trust their kid's teachers to teach them simple subjects and you want to arm them now?

Yet they still send them to school.:roll eyes:

If I had to choose between a teacher defending my kid's life or NOBODY defending my kid's life....then please arm the teacher.

In most cases it is a bad idea to arm teachers!

Maybe some teachers and faculty but not all.

Restrict entrance to all schools to one door in the front of the school with strong window openings or bars or heavy screens and have one armed person from the time the students begin to get to school till the time the school is locked at night. If a teacher wants to CC, then let them. The one armed guard at the only entrance should work.

I am certainly a little worried for Monday as one of the SA kids where I am now working was hauled to San Angleo for help because he threatened to kill his family and told what he was going to use and how he was going to do it and then had a melt down in front of Child Protective Services and the LEO's and was strapped on a gurney and sent via ambulance to somewhere in San Angelo. This is a 10 year old 170 pound 5th grader with teh IQ of maybe a first grader. He is prone to violence as he has put his younger brother in the hospital on 3 occassions.

When these cowards decide to nut up, they always head for a " Gun Free Zone" where they know they will be the only one with a gun.
If they would allow the teachers with CC permits to carry it would at least move the creeps to the Mall or a hospital

I'm thinking not arm the teachers but do have the admin armed, principal and vp.

If a teacher passes all the background checks necessary for a CHL, then there's no reason for them not to carry. I would have when I was teaching if it had been legal.

Give teachers the option. Put them through a battery of psycological tests, train and certify a select amount & give them mandatory qualification testing. This thing could've been stopped up front with minimal casualties. On the other hand, you get rid of guns and you start seeing school mass bombing and stabbings and so forth.
