    Missing!

Missed a real good buck this weekend at 200 yards with my rifle. I practice out to 300 so I'm more then capable of making that shot. Missing makes me sick! For one I worry about the animal, was it a clean miss or did I hit it bad and now is it going to run off suffer? That really really bothers me because I don't want it to suffer because of my poor shooting. In this case we found no blood and brad AKA Hamshire actually saw the buck after I shot and he was running without a limp and was hauling butt , but I still wonder if it was hit bad. Second missing really messes with my head. Was it me, was it the gun, was it both, did I flinch, rush my shot, why did I miss. In this case I'm pretty sure I rushed my shot and didn't watch the shot through my scope, was to excited and didn't do all the proper steps to make a good kill shot. Just had to get that off my chest because it's driving me nuts. Going to be practicing before I go back out. Rant over now.

Better luck next time. Keep your head up. We have all been in your shoes. At least he was seen later without a limp.

It happens. If anyone can say they have never missed on a shot the new they should have made, well they just ain't been hunting long enough or shot at that many animals yet. I've missed my fair share of shots.

Happened to me last week on a 10 point I've been hunting all season. Buck fever I guess. Checked the gun next day and it was shooting straight and true. I was do excited I think I yanked the trigger. Thanks for your post-- made me feel better!

can't wait to check my gun. Thought I was going to be able to do it when I got home but never stopped raining. Kind of hope it's the gun and not me

I would go hog hunting or shoot a few management does to get my confidence back up-I have done the same and this helped get me right back on track.
