Here's a picture of him along with the doe my daugher shot the same evening.
Well, once I got him home I decided to measure to be sure. Guess what. He was just BARELY 13". I figured he'd go 14 easy. I had a chance to look at him through a 9x scope at 80 yards for a while before I shot. He looked well past his ears. And it's not that he was a small deer either. He was a very healthy buck. Easily the biggest I've shot in Texas.
So, be careful.

I say he goes around 110". And yes I believe he will be 13". Not much to spare tho. I know "the law is the law", but that is not the kind of buck that the law is intended to protect. That looks to be a mature buck that needs to be killed. It would take a pretty hard core GW to write you a ticket for him even if he was 1/2 inch short. I say ground check him!
