Redundant, but where have all the bucks gone!?

So where do they go? Because the does and fawns are still here on this property. It sounds like its statewide but they're there in September and gone after opening weekend. I have nothing but a 4pt and a spike running around and the way that 4 point struts, I guess he's the king around here. I'm stumped.

I have been going through the same thing. I have seen them late at night on cam but notta during the day.

It's like hunting in the Twilight Zone.

Nearly all my deer have disappeared. I worked today so I can get out tomorrow. Hoping the front gets them moving.

We go through that every year too... beginning of the season we see lots of see then it starts dying out.

Only thing I can come up with is the hunting pressure of being at the ranch on a weekly basis during the season. The deer move off to no pressure areas...

This is what happens on our lease. We did notice last year that a few of the good bucks were spotted on an adjacent farm (Little pressure, owner doesn't hunt) in the middle of his field during daylight.

Maybe....but the does aren't leaving because of pressure....why do the bucks go?

Ive heard all the high fence bucks are really starting to evolve and have now started digging their way out. Most of the radar has them headed to Mexico where it is safe. It was bound to happen sooner or later.

Hey, consider yourself lucky, at least you're still seeing does. My lease was great opening weekend, then nothing. Most sits we see zero deer, or maybe one. To my knowledge, nobody has seen a decent buck in person since opening weekend. I've got a good heavy 8 on camera, but he only moves at night. Apparently, my does are the same, because IF I see one, it's within 5 minutes of the end of shooting hours. I have a hand throw spot with a deer block set out and the deer are there every night....between 10pm and 6am, and occasionally the camera will show them sticking around JUST until legal shooting time, or coming in JUST before legal time ends. If I could figure out how to make them stop moving at night, and start moving in the daytime, I would be tagged out....and a rich man.

Sounds like my place. I've sat quite a bit and seen 8 deer all season. I don't have to shoot, but I do like to see them from time to time. I quite running cameras, as it was just making me mad.
