Looking for some input from Mathews owners.

I only shot three arrows through a Z7 but I bought a Helim. As for me...I love it!!
I'd say you can't go wrong with either.

Only difference IMO is the Z7 is heavier. Both are solid and smooth on the draw. Both are also less than 300fps so don't be disappointed if you pass by a chronograph.

The helim is light which give a heck of a lot more hand shock in my opinion.. I bought a z7x after buying the helim and love it.. It's heavier and to me it's almost like a bull barrell on a gun as far as being able to steady it more plus the fact that I don't feel anything when I shoot.. I would highly recommend trying to find people who have one and someone who has the other and shoot them both..

I shot the Z7 when I bought my Monster. It felt good but the Monster felt better. After hunting a couple years with the Monster I am looking pretty hard at the Heli myself for nothing other than a shorter bow. The Monster is great but the Heli seems it would fit my style of hunting. My sister BF has a Heli, we shoot targets a lot together and that is one smooth bow and much lighter rigged than mine.

I have both the z7 and the helium. Bows are almost the same except weight! That being said, they took the weight out of the riser on the helium. Get alot of riser flex when put in a press, only con I see!

I have both and they are significantly different bows. The weight is one apparent issue but the cam and draw cycles are no where near the same. The Heli-m has a cam stop that produces a very hard back wall, the bow rolls fairly smooth through the valley into the wall.

I prefer to shoot my heli-m because the consistency of the back wall, the weight is an added bonus but the trade off is a bit more handshock. The z7 has a very smooth cam roll into a spongier back wall . . . . allows some forgiveness without it wanting to wrench out of your hand. go to sleep on the heli-m and it'll want to go.

The bows are the exact same speeds with the same set ups. The chill is a great bow to . . . have one on order but it is not faster by more then a fps. I like the chill's roll into wall even better then the heli-m and they put a little bit of weight back on the bow to accommodate the gigantic cams. I think the light weight is balanced a bit better in the chill, with the heli-m i just felt like they cut from wherever, the heavier limb pockets on the chill seem to balance the bow vertically better for me.

My suggestion is shoot them and decide. They are completely different draw cycles between all three bows . . . speeds are the same, ata is the same. I prefer this length bow to the xzt or extreme as the string angle on the peep is to extreme on the 28" bows.

no matter what they are great bows. The "riser flex" issue is a favorite issue at viking archery to tell you why not to buy a Mathews. They've been torquing every bow i've taken in their since the z7 came out. I believe if you look at the flex it's not torquing a way that your bow would normally be twisted. I've had people show me the "flex" and I always say I've no intention of twisting my bow that way. It doesn't flex in the directions it was made to move. I've had a z7 since the day they came out and never lost tune or had any problems "flexing" would cause.

Have only had the riser flex noticable with the helim. Just noted it on a structural stand point. Bows are not that different, regaurdless. Never been to viking archery , have my own press and Stevie Wonder could see theres a problem with the design. Still kill loads of deer with them though. And still love my Mathews, just hunt with a switchback. lol

Check out the z7 magnum... I have had a z7, z7xtreme, and heli m and I like the magnum better than all of them. It is a great bow if you like a little longer ATA.
