Stupid penny auctions. It looks like u are getting a good deal but you aren't. Unlike typical auctions they add time when u make a bid so u cant bid at the last sec in hopes to win. And while 5.00 for a 200.00 gift card seems like a good deal the reality is you pay 1.00 for each bid which increases the total on the item by .01. In other words that 200.00 gift card made the auction site $500.00.

              And I get a $200 card for $5?

Sounds like a heck of a deal to me.

It can be, you can also lose. Their bids cost .60 each, so on $5 the bid button was clicked 500 times. $500 x .60 = $300, so the seller received over retail for the item. The buyer could potentially win the item for 1 bid (.60), doesn't happen often, but possible.

I've won many penny auctions and always got good deals. The only thing I've ever bid on is gold.

This particular website appears to be legit, but you do have to be careful. There are a lot of scammers in the penny auction business.
