    Miller Trailblazer 302

Anyone have any experience with this Machine. If I understand correctly it can stc and mig weld. Looks like my 40 year old Lincoln is on its last leg and looking for a replacement. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have one and use it daily. It`s my second one. I had the first for 18 years and sold it to a customer to get this one as it will do so much more. You can MIG with it but you can MIG with any machine with the right feeder unit. You can TIG with it also but for aluminum you would need a high frequency unit. It does come with a 14 pin amphenol plug so you can plug in any of the Miller accessories, like the HF unit or a Miller wire feeder or a Miller remote amperage adjuster or the Miller remote air arc gouger. And it does have a contactor built in for regular wire feeders unlike the current sensing units you would have to use on other machines. They were always a pain in the as$.

When I bought mine Miller was having a special wher you could buy a suitcase portable wire machine at half price and give you the gun of your choice for free. If they are still doing this be sure to get a Bernard gun and not a Miller or a Tweco as the Bernard is the Cadillac of wire guns. If you have any more questions feel free to PM me. Bob Pool

You got that right. Its a good machine. I could probably get it fixed for a few hundred dollars. It was given to me by my father inlaw when my wife and I built our first home. My Sister inlaw and brother inlaw just bought their first home and need a machine to do stuff with so I will pass it along to them. At the end of the day it will end up back at the ranch I am sure.

Bob is right. I manage a welding supply in Baytown. The Miller is a great machine. Something else about the Trailblazer is that it is a dual pole generator. When you are welding, your helper can grind, ect... and not draw from your amps (not true on the Bobcat). Miller is not offering that deal that he got...but definately insist on the Bernard gun for any feeder you get.
