Last night while wrestling with my son, I got a speck of something in my right eye. It was nothing, we all get em. I just figured eventually my eye would mysteriously make it disappear. Well, after an hour, it started bothering me. I began to worry about how I'd lose my sight or my eye would be damaged. I flushed it with water like crazy, frantically rubbed it (probably the worst thing I could have done), and finally just left it for tomorrow and went to sleep, but even then it drove me crazy feeling that little thing in my eye.
It's amazing how such a small speck can consume your attention and thoughts. It can ruin tiny moments in one's life just due to being annoyed. Well, Praise GOD!! It was gone this morning when I woke up! I thanked God for this removal over and over again because my distraction was GONE!!!
So, do you have a speck? Do you have something that may be consuming your thoughts throughout the day? Is something keeping you from focusing on God and family? Identify it. Try to "flush it out". Put effort into it. If all else fail after you've done your part, pray and leave it to God. You never know what testimony will come of your tiny little speck.
