Help making some things scent-free?

Hey guys, I just bought a camera tripod and some other items, and I am wondering what you guys would do to make them scent-free? I took them out and I can smell the plastic parts of it and such, so I know the deer would!

What would you do/use?

Sit them outside in the sunshine for a couple days

I wouldnt spend too much time on it. The smell of plastic is not going to trigger fear like human scent does.
