    Covert Black Ops camera

From you guys that have them, what kind of battery life are you getting? I am only getting between 1k to 2k pics before my batteries are dead and it quits sending pics via text. Curious if this is normal or if yall are getting better battery life. Thanks.

So you have an external battery pack or a solar panel? Or both?

I know I've hit the 3k mark with 1/4 battery left.

The place I ordered my cameras from told me that it is crucial to use name brand batteries or lithiums with these mms cams, I was using cheapo batteries and then switched to lithium and I am getting around 3500-4000 pics

I have had mine out three months and changed batteries today. One thing worth knowing is they'll quit sending pics when batteries are low. They'll take them to card but won't send.

Just a feeder battery.. I put it in a project box from radio shack.. all i bought from them was the cable..

I was told very clearly dont use the lithiums, though that would be my preference.. Even says on the website not to use lithiums. She said something about them not seating right because the size is slightly smaller than an alkaline

Yeah I saw the warning on some of the lithium batteries. I just bought the external cable as you suggested. I have plenty of batteries and solar panels and project boxes so I will be making that adjustment this weekend. Thanks for all the input guys.

I've never kept track of the number of pictures compared to battery changes but it's a lot. I'm sure I'm getting several thousand pix per battery change. I'm getting plenty for me. I'm using Kirkland batteries from COSCO - $10 for 48 AAs.

I've gotten nearly 600 pics on mine since 11-23 & the battery indicator still says 9. This is the best camera I've ever owned.

I built a battery pack with one 6 volt battery and a solar panel. It has been out 3 months and probably taken 5k pics, still says full.

I've had our covert out since August 16. Changed batteries once on October 10 and still had 50% battery life at that point. You could have a bad camera. I love the battery life so far.

Well hopefully once I change to an external battery source with solar panel it will take care of the problem. If not, I'll be returning it. I have had to change out my batteries about 4 times since the end of Sept. Im getting somewhere around 1800 pics before it goes dead.

I am using lithiums in my Uway um562s which I thought were nearly identical to the coverts . The lithiums have been working great for me in those cameras.

                              Sorry for the bad advice
