Some of the best bucks in this state come off of Places without any appreciable antler management. Habitat conditions and maturity have the ability to turn a "cull buck" into the buck of a lifetime.
Now, if you want to cull him because of the economics of providing feed or manage the impact on the habitat that would be another issue. Basic carrying capacity.
Otherwise, see what happens.

That deer is 1.5. Under our management plan he would die, but we are under a STRICT plan that we kill anything with 5 points or less at 1.5. All depends on your management plan.
I think the bigger issue is saying you are managing, but have no plan with a definite goal in mind and ways to measure to your success.

The deer is young but I don't agree with the AR restrictions. I know I have some really jacked up deer every year but we can't shoot them legally... or older bucks that will never get outside the ears. But as a whole there are too many people that would kill anything and everything if there were no restrictions. We are looking to jump up to level 3 MLD.
