Do you not see what is happening with statements like that? The media is trying to paint a picture of something that is not anywhere close to the real thing. Do you think if it'd had been a "wooden bow" that this article would've been written differently? I doubt it would have been. For the people who don't know what a compound bow is, they'll read that and think that the murderer (note that I didn't refer to him as the alleged shooter like the media outlets do) wouldn't have committed those acts if he couldn't have gotten his hands on a "high-powered bow." The uninformed are the ones that will read statements like that and think the worse. I'm tired of people wanting to ban everything because a select few people do things because they're idiots or psychotic.

I've already weighed in on the Yahoo site and explained to everyone how big of an idiot the guy was that wrote the article.

Sorry I don't see it... Those are facts nothing about military issue...etc all the link showed was a story about what happened. I guess some dont want to know what happened?? He was shot in the head with a high powered bow. Is that not a fact? The writer didn't say if the guy didn't have a bow or knife his father would still be alive today... See the difference.... But since it was written on a computer it must mean it should be Censored. Btw the article was written by the AP not Yahoo.

Not saying it shouldn't be censored. But it shouldn't be over dramatized either. Same thing happens when there is an oil spill, the media will report, ex. 42,000 gallons of oil was spilled instead of saying 1000 barrels was spilled while both are correct one seems much worse than the other and can lead some people to believe things are worse than they actually are. Heck why don't they just say 460000000000000000 teaspoons were spilled if they want to over dramatize it.

I like my news to be that...news, not over censored and not over dramatized!!!

Im seeing from this side too. It was a terribly written article but I don't see anything blaming bowhunters, bow makers, knife makers, or hunters. Just a poor explanation of what happened.

Don't think the writer over dramatized the murder, but he/she over dramatized the weapon used!!!

No, but that's what people will read.

It may be true, but more then likely it isnt. Not every compound bow should be described as "high powered". My daughters $40 compound bow I bought her when she was 5 has a tad less power then my Invasion. The murderer didnt look like a hunter type that would be spending $$$$ on what is really a high powered bow.

                            Look at it this way:

If you took two rifles, maybe a .22 and a .338. Both are rifles Both shoot a projectile. Now imagine someone was shot in the head with the .22. Did he get killed with a high power rifle? Or would that be a gross over dramatization of the facts?

My daughter has a compound bow too. It was $20 at Walmart. I like the rifle comparison, excellent point my friend.

Assumptions kinda like saying the article was written by a yahoo writer when in fact it was written by the AP... Facts matter
