    Artifacts Question--

    TBH,

After reading page after page of the Indian Artifacts thread I thought I would share some pieces that were past down from my great-grandpa that I now proudly display. There is a description in Spanish on the back which half of unfortunatley got torn off because it was stuck to the wall at my grandparents place in Mexico. Below is a short translation of what the paper says on the back.

Translation--"Large arrows date 3000 yrs AC, and the small arrows are from the classic era demonstrating the existence of execution by the Chichimecas Tribe that lived in the Northern most states of the Mexican Republic."

I really know nothing about these pieces, and I wish I did. My grandfather passed away before I was old enough to understand or want to learn about them and my grandmother doesnt know much about them. Here is a picture of the some of the pieces collected. My brother has another part of the collection and there is also a large book written my my great grandfather about all his findings, but we are not sure where it is. Im assuming my Uncle in Mexico has it, because I am sure it would clear a lot of my questions up.

Anyhow, if anybody might have some info, great. If not, hope you enjoy the picture!!

I too am from an Indian ( as incorrect as it is I just happen to not like the Natve American monicker. If you feel other wise I have no problem with that either. It's not something I'd chose to get in a fight over.) heritage and greatly appreciate seeing any of the original suvival implements. After all, that's what they were, was survivial implements. It's what they used to acquire food. They most certainaly were not items of enertainnment. Those are particularly fine specimens. Superbly executed. Done by a true craftsperson. I have nuimerous specimens in my perwsonal colledtion and none of them approach the skill demonstrated in yours. I'm one jealous indivicual. Thank for sharing. Migwetch (OjibwayChippewa Thank You)

Thanks for the comments. Crazy to think someone may have used these many years ago. Just wish I knew more history on them.
