Well I'm in the process of doing that, but that only gets the meat and nastiness off of the skull. I need to know the best way to degrease and whiten.

You degrease with dawn dish soap and whiten with 40% perioxide and whiten agent from Sally's beauty supply.

to whiten go to the beauty supply store get 40% peroxide and basic white mix together to make a paste and apply with a small paint brush( don't let it get on you you might want to wear gloves). Let sit over night then rinse off and let sit in the sun a day or two. Comes out brillant white.

My cousin is a taxi, and he uses the professional highlighter, bleacher stuff from the beauty shop supply. I believe it has the hydrogen peroxide in it. It is also paste, so it will stick better. He said not to leave on too long as it will make the bone brittle.

Degrease with Dawn water. Change it every time the water gets cloudy. When it is not cloudy anyomore after 5 or 6 days it is degreased (takes a while).
Whiten as described above from the beauty supply. My kid puts aluminum foil around the bases so he does not get the horns. Apply with tooth brush. If you do get any on the horms it will discolor (if you get small spot on them you can match color at Home Deport in the wood flooring department.

Hydrogen peroxide does nothing to degrease. Hot water around 115 degrees, dawn, and time. Change the water out when it gets cloudy. Then hou can whiten with peroxide. If you do not take the time to whiten it will yellow over time

Flat white looks real good. Just did one about a week ago.

I did a pig skull in a couple gallons of greased lightning. Came out well.

I find that maceration requires the least amount of degreasing.

                            Anything that works, works.

Old school wast put it by an ant hill.

One of my horses died and I just haued to that back of the property and let the coyotes, buzzards, what have you at it. Just went back and took a look yesterday (after about 6 months) and a nice white \skull, nice ribs etc.. Kind of scattered around because of the scavengers. Do I recommend it for something you want to keep: Nope, but it works. I'm told back in Africa they'd bury them in an ant hill. Long story short, whatever works, works. Skulls are hard.
