its a non issue for pop but ole' howie is a bit miffed...... when howie starts paying for the health and welfare of the old guys then he should get a vote..... even the young guys might need a bit of emotional "atta boys" every once in a while.... back off howie and lighten up...

You fine a guy for leaving his best players at the house? Its the SPURS team and they pay them to stay at home, they can do whatever they want to with the players but just because fans didnt get to see them they deserve fines=ridiculous

The Heat only beat them by 3 so it wasnt like it wasnt a good game... Stern is an idiot!

LOL @ CIA Pop. Funny thing, I was talking to a guy that works for me yesterday morning and predicted Pop would do that. He did the same thing last year with Dallas.

I heard about this on the way to work. Stern is an I D 10 t! Pop is doing what's best for his team to win another championship! And the fans should applaud him for that. I've never cared for Stern.

Stern is a lot like Jerry, he's a tool. These guys have egos the size of Texas. Can't stand either one of them.

He's been doing it for a while now, it's just recently that people actually pay attention.

I think the bigger issue is for fans in Miami who paid to watch the match up for superstars that were disappointed. I usually don't agree a lot with Stephen A Smith, but he had a valid point last night. He said, "if you want to rest them, rest them at home, where fans have a lot of opportunities to watch these guys play". I have to agree, if I was a Spurs fan and lived in the Miami area and spent that much money on tickets (BB is not cheap) I would have been disappointed. I don't care that it was a close game, I could have watched that at home on tv. I go to watch great players play in person. Its the very reason ticket prices are higher when superstar teams come to town rather than the bottom dwellers. Stern was ****** because of how it looks to the fans. You Spurs fans don't care because you are looking at the long term goal and agree with it, but fans of other teams might. Again, I'm sure that game was under the "premium" pricing based on the fact that it should have been full of superstars. I think that is what upset Stern. Me, I personally don't care about either team

integrity of the game not sure a fine is merited but thats tantamount to throwing in the towel.

that and the spurs can kiss my rear

I don't blame Pop a bit. Their schedule leading up to and after this game was s#$%, and he has to look at the long term. Sorry Stern, but you need to be exiled with JJ and Isaiah Thomas on an island for people who should not be allowed around pro sports

Looks like big headed ego has moved up the food chain in the NBA.

                            What a joke.

I guess the next time everyone pays high dollar to go to a game better not complain if the team just plays its second string and sits all the superstars you were expecting to watch play.
