He picked it up and then lost it like at 200 yards.

I had the same situation happen on a good 8 pointer. Tracked him and blood trail ended. I thought. Then walking back, I saw him laying in a field with his head up looking at me. Went to put another shot in him and he took off trotting. Never found him and was probably harvested on someone elses property. I put the arrow through the rear of his rib cage and out his left shoulder. Saw the arrow sticking up when he was laying down.
