Question about docking and clipping for dogs

ive docked my pups tails before but have never had any of their ears clipped....i'm sure its best done when they are pups. anyone know if its much of a prob to clip/dock when they are around 2 years of age? got a buddy thats thinking of getting his dog done and i told him i wouldnt...opinions appreciated. Thanks

its a doberman he's getting from somebody at work. the dog is over 2 years old and he wants to get its tail whacked and the ears cropped. i told him if it was me i'd just leave it alone at that age but i think he's gonna do it anyway

Chances are you'll never get those ears to stand at that age.

And the tail is no longer just a clip it's a major surgery that could give that dog nerve problems after its been docked

I don't know about the ears but a friend had his dogs tail removed not too long ago on a dog that was 2 or older, she is fine.

We just had our doeberman ears done. It is recommended to clip the ears at 12 weeks and the first taping at 14 weeks. So i would not recommend doing the ears this late in the game. We love our dobe she is the smartest dog i have ever been around.

Medically speaking, the ears should be done at an early age for the cartalige to stiffen and stand up. By two the cartalige can not firm up. the tail can be done, but it wouldbe a surgery, not just a clip. I know some people are not keen on having a dogs ears clipped, but nothing looks better than a good clipping that has been posted correctly!!

He could have the tail done, but its too late for the ears.

This. Plus it is too late for the ears as already stated.
