Preferred way of hunting & why?

What is your preferred way to hunt deer and why? What I'm interested in is do you prefer a box blind? Ground blind? Chain on? Tripod? And why?

I've been trying to branch out and try new ways of hunting besides the ole box blind with a feeder and just wanted some of ya'lls insight.

My best luck so far has been on the ground, in 3D camo, butted up to a tree, but I get busted everytime before I get the shot. I really like my climbing stand, but find it
cumbersome to carry into the woods and it's kind of loud going up the tree.

    Any ideas will be appreciated.

My new favorite is using a natural ground blind or ghillie suit. I like to set up on trails. I don't mind a little hand corn, though.

This way is so much cheaper, eaiser, and much less maintenance involved. I've been close to a lot of turkeys and deer....the hard part is getting drawn since you're at eye level (can't hold very long with a trad bow)

Same here. I seem to see a lot more this way, bit get busted every f'in time. Used to use a chain on that was 30 friggin feet in the air which was awesome, but your stuck with that one place (unless you have several chain ons).

Yep I agree with you both. Love the view from the chain/lock ons. I like the idea of the climber, but they seem to be a little loud and it's hard to get higher than 10feet before you start hitting branches where I hunt.

If rifle hunting I usually like a box blind for protection from the elements and it is easier to move around without being seen. If bow hunting, in a ground blind. I can see more from the ground blind and I like the sunlight on my pins, especially at dawn and dusk.

I have killed deer in most kinds of setups from both rifle and bow but those tend to be my preferences.

Natural ground blinds and spot and stalk. It adds a challenge to the hunt.

I prefer bowhunting from a ground blind over hand corn on a chilly, cloudy, drizzly day. Nothing beats that!!

4 lone wolf climbing sticks and a tree saddle.

In less than 10 minutes I am hunting from almost any decent diameter tree 15-20 feet up.

i hunt from trees with hand corn and a recurve
when I sit on the ground I put the hand corn out to my farthest comfortable shooting dist.

i've done a lot of natural ground blind hunting and yes i did get busted a lot. but you really have more freedom. if you find the right spot, you can dang near brush yourself in and they will never see you! a whole lot cheaper and easier to use natural cover. trees that have fallin down are the best ones. or a big pile of branches and make a whole and just sit in the middle of them.

Ill hunt just about any way. My fav hands down is 20 feet up. Just being in the outdoors is what it's all about

I like a good ground blind if I can get it under some trees for shade but if it's out in the open or pointed towards the rising or setting sun it's kinda bright and the deer can see you in there even in black. It's getting to be the time of year where I can hunt the most comfy blind of all, it has 4 wheels a heater and a radio plus windows to block the wind. I've got a tree stand that I'm starting to hunt but it's not in a prime spot. I liked hunting treestands growing up in east Texas because your up off the ground out of the line of sight. If I hunt a box blind it has to have a lot of room and a comfy chair to kick back.

Prefer to stay on the ground in a pop up...but can't beat 20' up a tree

Love my Run n Gun SouthTexas Tripod. 13 footer. I like that I can see more and enjoy being up in the mesquites. GB are cool too. especially if its really cold and rainy. Stalking for pigs, nothing more fun but EXTREMELY diff on wt's. not big on box blinds. I dont drive to lease to sit in a wooden box. I have done the natural ground blinds, that is really cool too.
