Anyone ever Duck hunt public water in Arkansas?

I am looking at taking my dad and some friends to Arkansas to do a little duck hunting this season with the new boat i just bought. Hoping to get some info on the best public duck hunting lakes we can hunt. If i cant find and info on hunting Arkansas we may make a trip to Toledo Bend instead, thats if the duck hunting is any good there. Could use all the info you have?

Bayou Meto is always a great place to hunt, boat in or walk in. They have some strick rules but I have never not killed anything there.

White River is good, Arkansas River is good mid-late in the season. The plus side is there is always good places to hunt.

Saw Bayou Meto on DU TV yesterday. Looks like a neat place. Cool how it was developed for public hunting! I wonder how crowded it gets.

Check out this video. This is basically a flooded ditch.

Non residents now have to buy a tag to hunt the WMA land. Cheap like 15.00 but don't forget it.

Have you checked northeast ark, I used to hunt st. Francis, and black river, river bottoms. It's been many years. Also chech cash river bottoms. We use to shoot a lot of mallards when the water got out in the fields. Good luck.

you may wanna hook-up with some locals....there a number of places that hold ducks that don't get real crowded....Bell Slough,Camp Robinson WDA and Cache River NWR are good places to hunt late season.....don't forget the public land tag....will be a lot easier to hunt than TB....got some pics from thanksgiving week with all kinds of ducks and geese in the Hazen/Des Arc area on the rice fields....

I've hunted, white ri er, cache river and bayou meto for years with some locals.

Last year will be my last. It has gotten horrible!!! Ni i promise you will see more ducks in one hr than you have seen your whole life.....but then there are the "hunters". IF you want to hunt next to a tree... Bring your own.

Ramp opened at 4... I got there mid week at 4:15....no less than 100 ahead of me....at one ramp!!!(4 wide)

Had hunters at 10am move in a got closer to our decoys than we were...and were not leaving.

Private duck clubs or nothing. There are NO secret spots. We were 14 miles into woods...no trail

Arkansas is the most overrated duck hunting destination in the US. Kansas and Missouri would be a much better choice if you're looking to go out of state. OK can be good as well when it has water.....
