I cheated this past weekend. I broke out my new thunder stick aka Black Sheep Mossberg 100 ATR in .308. I just wanted to see what the gun and Hornady Zombie max 168 gr would do. Lets just say I am a big fan of the Zombie Max ammo now. I will try and cut down the video later this week and get it posted. Here is a graphic photo of what it can do. oh I think the .308 is a bit much for texas deer. Also for your die hard bowhunters who will now dis-own me for shooting a rifle, this is the first deer I have killed with a rifle in over 10 years.

I wasn't able to hold a bow last season and had to use a .308. I found it killed on both ends. I searched and found Hornady's Custom Lite's. The recoil was more like a .243, but lost all of the meat on the offside shoulder. The custom Lite was 120gr at around 2800fps. I think we overdo everything just to kill a deer.
