    CHL class questions

My 21st birthday is coming up, and my Dad wants us to take the class and buy carry guns together. How far in advance do you need to sign up for the class? Do most gun ranges conduct them? Could I take the class before my birthday or do I have to wait until I'm 21? I realize that cost will be in the hundreds, but how much are we talking? What should I expect to pay for the class and prints?

Thanks y'all. I really have my eye on a tcp 380.

I live in Keller Texas and if you want to take a class and live close to this place I recommend it. The people are very nice and will treat you right, but the classes here fill up very fast.

I signed up the week prior, but he runs the class 2 times a weekend.

I think I paid 100 for the class and it included breakfast tacos and pizza lunch. The fees after the class were more than the class.

      Good luck

What all paperwork has to be done? Before and after the class?

My class cost me $100 and that included lunch, They did the pic and prints, I think it was $45 to send it to the state and get it processed. Just be sure to take your class with a semi auto, if you take it with a revolver than that is all you can carry

Here in SA my class was $60(no meals included) the $60 included photo and prints. I don't think they include prints anymore though.

I think one month in advance is plenty of time. I also am pretty sure you can take the class without being 21, you just can't send your paperwork til your b-day (different ranges have different rules and I would assume you would need a parent or someone over 21 with you).

Edit: pretty sure State App fee is $140

Took mine last august at Cabela's. I think it was $130 for Class, prints and shooting, done all in one day, Lunch snacks and drinks provided. Crossfire training does the class there.

I paid $100 for my class. Plus $140 to the state $10 passport photo $10 prints. I signed up for the class a few weeks before.

                    so grand total of $260.

It all depends on the class some have a waiting list and fill up other don't. you can go online and get the process started. one thing to think about is I don't believe you can take the class with a 380. I believe it has to be a 9mm or larger. If I am wrong someone will chime in and correct me. JUST DO IT!
