    Dish network internet?

Very unhappy with century link and comcast/xfinity is too expensive.

Any one have dish network satellite internet? Pros and cons?

    Thanks

I have it. Very expensive and not very fast. Don't expect DSL speeds. A technican told me that new systems are being installed now with DSL-like speeds, but when I called to inquire about it I was told it was not available in my area. The rep told me that is mainly for east and west coast users. I wish I could get something else, but this is the only option out here where we live.

He is talking about their new Internet service not their TV service.

I have century link bobby and don't have any problems with it.

Our internet is slow. Constantly stops working and you have to reset the modem. May be equipment problem. But speeds are nowhere near advertised.

I have Internet through dish network and I live in the sticks. Speeds are fine. A lot of the speeds have to do with peek times and slow times. Overall I'm very pleased with it

I had dish-net before we moved and switched to TXOL. dish is just a step or 2 above the old dial-up, very slow and drops out completely every time it clouds up to rain. we never have had DSL available , but the TXOL is great compared to Dish, I switched over to Direct for TV also

Our Century link is fast but is constantly kicking us off. Looking also. How much is Direct per month?

I had Centurylink and dropped them like a bad habit. they were my only choice for DSL, had cable internet thru Mid Coast cable vision, they were so great at internet service they didn't even have a website or online billpay.

I got rid of the home phone/DSL, took the phone out of the mix a couple of years ago, because the area got better each year for cellular service and the home phone only rang for political ads and charity programs.

Now I have the ATT Wireless Hotspot, posting thru it now via Laptop, I have a IPad and Iphone, so I use it for everything. Cost $50.00 a month. Glad I did, cause I can take my WIFI anywhere I go now. The money I save by dropping the Home Phone Package you have to have to have the DSL bundle, more than pays for the hotspot service.

I have Dish Network too, but Satellite internet has not been very successful that I have seen.

The new sat services, exceed comes to mind, is very fast. You get better than dsl speeds with it. The down side is you have a monthly cap of data, e.g., 2gb up to 10 gb depending on what you do on the internet. The other downside is latency you have around a 1/2 a second of latency built in to any sat connection because of signal propagation delay. Its ok when your surfing the web but if you are trying to play a game online like call of duty, it is unusable.
