I bought my 4-year old son a Polaris predator 50 off of eBay for $850.00. He loves it & it has been reliable. You can turn it down to a crawl or speed it up where my 16 year old girl (95 lbs) can ride it around the neighborhood.

I have a pair of Polaris Sportsman 80's for my 9 and 11 year old girls. They ride all over the place on them and they always start easily. That may be too big for a four year old. Maybe the 50 cc model?

I also took a 125 cc Chinese model from my neighbor. I knew it was a bad idea... But we rode it this summer. Can't get it to start now!

i just had my 3.5 year old grand daughter in for thanksgiving and don't think I'd put her on an ATV at all...maybe a go cart with a governor, a roll cage and seat belts.

The Polaris 50 is pretty hard to beat.

I think Honda and Kawasaki make their own youth atvs. Great machines
Polaris is part chinese (but with standards)
Suzuki youths are descent if they are still making them.
Arctic cat youth size are not that great, but ok
But any of these are leaps and bounds better than chinese!

As a certified ASI ATV Instructor that age is too young.........but you have to make sure the ATV fits the rider. I would also suggest that you sign them up for an ATV course so that they can properly learn to ride one. If you buy a new ATV the course is free....

Ooops ment 3.5 & 5 . They both are real athletic and extremely coordinated. If I didn't feel they could handle them I would not put them on one. The PW to small and won't run long enough and t they both drive a golf cart fairly well.
I do want something I can turn down to control the speed. Think I'll check out the Polaris
