    Bolting down a safe?

I took a Hilti drill and drilled four 1" anchor holes into my slab. Dropped the draw anchors into the holes and bolted her up. She isn't going anywhere..

I was worried about the cables, too. I just lucked out and didn't hit one, and have had no problems.

Thanks for the reply. I believe I might be able to go 2 inches down with no worries.
      I also meant post tension!!

I would think 2" would be fine. I believe mine were 3" deep.

Dont drill before getting a metal detector and checking first. If for some reason you hit a cable that is shallow it could harm either you or your slab.

If a metal detector is not available, look on the outside of your slab for the pocket formers of the cable. The location of these will be somewhat accurate to where the cable runs thru the slab.

What Grizz said!!!! If you hit it and break the cable loose it can be ugly!!! I have seen one rip out thru the top of the slab and it could cut clean thru an arm!!! That thing is pulled to a tension of up to 5000 lb per inch!!

Can't you bolt it through the rear to 2x4 studs and accomplish almost the same thing? Just thinking.

If you don't plan on moving it in the future you could use liquid nails for concrete.
