    climbing stand recoomendations

Looking into asking Santa for a climbing stand for Christmas and needing some recommendations. I have never used one before so I'm a newbie to climbers. I'm 5'8 about 200 and hunt with both bow and gun. Been looking at the Summit line of stands but I know there are so many out there that input would be helpful

I have two Summits, no other climbers, so add a a mark to your list for Summit. Whichever climber you get you'll probably also want another harness. Most new stands will include a harness to satisfy their lawyers, safe-yes, practical/easy to use not exactly.

My whole family uses summit and they have lasted for years. Mine has been used so much I've had to replace the cables. Can't go wrong with summit. Also the seats make for a good nap on a cool, dull morning.

I have had a Summit for several years and been perfectly satisfied with it. Bought an Ol Man this year and it is a significant improvement.

Easier to carry (I got the lightweight model). Easier to setup, and more quiet climbing the tree.

Ive had an API for about 10 years and I love it. I also have a Gorilla and don't like it as much. Mostly because it doesn't have a foot rest, that little feature makes a big difference on his long I can sit still and how long I can start on stand. You can get them from Sportsmensguide

Summit is the way to go Imo. Its all welded they are light and will last forever. The paint has a tendency to chip or fade but other than that it's the best stand for the money. Lone wolf makes a good stand from what I hear but they are awfully proud of them if u know what I mean. Millinium is also in the top of the line category as well. Never tried one but I've heard good things about them. I wanna try that x stand. Its only like 10-12 pounds. That would be awesome to be able to carry your climbing stand and not even realize its there. Ol'man is good too.
