    new rifle approved!

So I talked my wife into letting me get a varmit rifle...decided on a new rem. model 700 .22-250....got so many plans for it. Anyone else use this for dogs? I have so much time to think about what I want here in Afghanistan. It's not healthy(for our bank accnt lol). Well hope when I come home in Oct. I can link up with some TBH people and get some hunting done. I have nowhere to go cept for the Sam Houston National Forest. I haven't killed crap there in the 5 years I have hunted there. Seen lots of does, killed a few squirrels, and my ol' man killed 3 hogs last season. In 5 years thats not very good odds. Well I'll keep checking in on the fellas' and see how everyones offseason is going.

I have shot one, and that would be my choice.

Did you grow up in Waller? One of my best friends grew up there and is also in the air force, sere instructor.

Congrats on the clearance to purchase!!!

I have a ruger 220 swift that I use on varmints and does. Absolutely love it. Have a friend with that remington 22-250 and he really likes it.

Appreciate all that you and the rest of the forces are doing over there. Keep your head down and get back safe to hunt with us in the fall. Let us know if we can send you anything.....

His name is Duane Gregory. He went to High School there and then to New Mexico State to play football.

I know a few Gregorys in Waller...perhaps maybe even the same one. I can't wait to get home. This place is so over looked. Some of the storys I could tell you from here would make you think we were in Vietnam. Anyways about the rifle. I CAN'T WAIT. I always love to get my hands on a new rifle and give it a go round. Plus it's always easier to get the wife to shoot with a smaller caliber rifle

Congrats on the clearance for the new gun, I am currently working on my clearance for the same rifle. I shot one a couple of weeks ago and man it is a sweet shooting gun, I can't wait to get one.

I shoot a kimber varmit in the 22-250 it has a 26in barrel. With barnes varmit grenades in a 37 grain we have gotten 4380 feet per second. I think that you will love the caliber.
