Deer Processor In Athens???????

Who is the best deer processor in the Athens to Tyler area. I am sending a deer home with my Mom and Step Dad and want to find the best. They would like to have some "Jimmy Dean"style breakfast sausage made as well as steaks. I would like for them to get their deer back rather than batch made junk.

Being the good son, do it for them! Santos in Athens is good, but no guarantee that its your deer that your getting back. Not sure if J&S processing in Fairfield does deer, but man their Stuff is awesome. Brother had a pig butchered from the livestock show and it is awesome. Might check with them though.

I use Santos next to whataburger and like them. Havnt tried anyone else.

Agree with Fairfield! Havnt taken a deer but a buddy of mine brought some beef and man it was good. That will be who I try next.

I was the good son, son. I killed it, gutted it, quartered it up and kept it on ice. I don't make no stinking sausage....


I have also had a HCLS pig and calf butchered at J & S and will agree their product was off the hook.

I have used Santos but they are VERY expensive! Their smoked sausage is good. If convenience is more important than price, I wouldn't hesitate to use them.

The taxidermy place that used to be (might still be) in front of WalMart in Athens did processing too. It was great.
