My friend Caitlin and I went out to hunt yesterday evening (Sunday) We have been hunting everyday almost on the weekends and have had a good 140 class buck come in several times but always out of range. My dad has bow hunted the last 30 plus years and has taken his fair share of deer. Our neighbors this year have harvested a 156 & 163 class bucks and the deer crop is looking up this year. Long story short my dad comes out 5 minutes yesterday evening to one of our set ups and drops this buck with his .270 at 300 yards. He hasn't shot many deer since the 15 years I've been hunting so it really meant a lot to see him shoot this deer. It must be his year because he shot a good bobcat the day before and shot a doe with his recurve the last weekend of bow season. Here's a few pics of him with his buck and also one of his buck with Caitlin. Shes been wanting to get out and hunt and this was her first experience to see a decent buck hit the ground!! Needless to say she wants to go again!! Got her hooked!!
