How to keep a duck till taxidermist?

I shot a beautiful duck and can't remember the proper way to keep a duck till I can get him to the taxi Monday. If I remember you put him in some pantyhose and then the freezer but been to long. What say y'all? Thanks

Slide it into the pantyhose after you have wiped in the direction of the feathers with a towel to remove dirt, blood and water. Bill first into the pantyhose to keep the feathers flat. What kind of duck are you getting mounted? Congrats on the wall mounter regardless!

I have also heard of the pantyhose deal from some taxis while others have told me just put them in a big ziplock while keeping sure not to ruffle any feathers. I have done both and taken them to the taxi with no issues.

Turn the head back under the wing before putting it in anything . If you leave that head strait out and it freezes it will get broken off . Always put the head under the wing before freezing

I wish I had done that with a beautiful Cinnamon Teal about 15 years ago. Prettiest duck I ever shot.

tuck head/bill under wing

slide into pantyhose

then into plastic ziplok bag

Then put the duck in some pantyhose too.

If you're bringing to the taxi in 2 days, you don't need to freeze it- the fridge would do. The stocking is to prevent freezer burn from long storage. At least that's what I understand.

X2 on tucking the head under the wing however you do it.
