If you're talking about the thorny bushes that bear what we used to call "mock oranges" , not to my knowledge. We had 'em on a lease we had for years and I never saw any indication that the deer would eat them. Make a great cover scent, though.

I have seen the hogs tear them up and deer eat the leaves off them but not the fruit.

I googled the subject and from what I have found they really wont eat them unless they are really hungry. And suggested splitting them open

Horse apples. Squirrels love 'em. If you put some out you'll be covered up with tree rats.

I'd be interested to see if hogs will eat them. We have tons of them around our part of the world. Anyone have proof that hogs like them?

Those trees make the very best selfbows. Yes, the deer and hogs will eat them.

The deer on our lease eat them fter they fall and ripen up. I have some funny pictures of the deer looking at the camera with one of the oranges in their mouth. They come off Bois d'arc trees in our shelter belts. I never heard of them called an osage orange till a few weeks ago.

Usage seems to be a regional. The crude protein in leaves is 18%. The deer on my farm in Ohio browse on them year round and will eat the fruit after it hits ground. I have also heard people say deer never touch them.
