    Didn't expect to see him!

Have been hunting since bow opener looking for a buck I've been watching for last couple of years. Saw him every hunt last year except last weekend of season. Have had 4 cams in area since June/ July, thousands of pics and no sign of him.

Well yesterday I got off of work early because of training day and headed out. Stopped at the parents to pick up gun. I keep an AR there since I can't carry one to work and usually only use it for hogs and varmints. So I figured I'd go sit to try and get a hog or two for the 2012 KAP count. Also wanted to see if rut was in gear yet. Well parents had me running behind because they wanted to visit. Feeder had deer under it when I got there. Spooked a doe off and saw a rack I didn't recognize from anything I had seen this year. Only got a glimpse without optics. Oh we'll I figured I'd climb in stand and wait for hogs since I'd already screwed up this hunt. 45 minutes later a deer appeared. One look and I was shocked. I lowered binos and grabbed my AR( not my favorite choice for deer) but all I had. Waited few minutes for good broadside shot. Didn't want to put hole in cape or I would have neck shot him. I squeezed a round off. He jumped and ran behind some thick brush. I knew it was a good shot so I only waited a few minutes before cautiously going to look. Once I neared the shot location I slowed down scanning in the direction he ran. There he laid taking his last breaths only 30-35 yards away. Didn't have a lot of good light left and being by myself these are the only pics I have for now. Before any one asks low fence, mineral rock supplements in spring and NO protein.

I'm gonna say he'll be in the 130's
