another AR question

completely new to the AR world but i want one. looking at the Acadamy website there are quite a few. looking for the 5.56/223 have about $1000.00 budget. just dont want to buy something and hope for the best. what would you buy? any help is welcomed. thanks.

I bought one from academy. Paid $974 out the door in humble tx. That was 2 years ago. Bushmaster ar15 .223

My dad has the bushmaster ar-15 and uses it as his duty weapon. good solid gun and pretty accurate.

I would tell you what I would buy if I knew what Academy had to offer, you didn't mention it in your post.

I had one for a while but only shot 6-7 hundred through it. Never jammed or ftf pretty accurate and for the money on a walk in and buy ready to go shoot they are worth the money imo.

To be honest..the AR market is so competitive that most of the offerings out there are solid..DPMS, Bushmaster, RR arms, DD etc..Better yet, build your own and you will get to know intricacies of and get comfortable with your firearm better than you ever could buying one of the shelf..just IMO.

Got a RRA Elite Operater. Shoots great, lots of amenities, never jammed & I like it better than the Bushmaster I had.... One thing to keep in mind is that ARs are mil-spec so youcan mix &match parts
