Anybody use telephone poles to set up climbing stand?

Just curious if any TBH's use telephone poles. Got on a new lease and there are several telephone poles that can be used for stands. I don't even know if this is legal. Any info would be appreciated.

Bad ju ju there man. Telephone poles are very hard easy to slip on. The teeth of the stand cannot get a good bite, and your safety harness can slip also. Then everything will be soaked in creasoke and all dirty all the time. I suggest hunt the edges and not the poles.

And think of the splinters that will be stuck in you when that stand slips and you hug that telephone pole trying to stop!
If there is nowhere else to use your climber then you need to brush in a pop-up!

Telephone pole are very bad for numerous reasons. All stated above and the picture is the truth. You see when you scoot up the pole, the closer you become to being the nice juicy ground for the current. If some of the pole up and down the line have broken ground wires, your odds of getting fried go up greatly..

When I wanted to practice with a climbing stand for the first time I placed it on the pole in my front yard.....................bad choice

Worked as a lineman in my early years. Creasote is an irritant to both the skin and smell. It will get into your gear and clothing. While we use old poles for corner posts I would not use it for a climbing stand.
