I got a friend at work wanting to trade his truck. His is a 2wd chevy 1500. Hes looking at a z71 4wd. His is a '12, trade is '10. He has nice wheels and tires, z has factory. They told him it would cost them $3k to replace rims and tires on his if he took his off cause the 4wd rims wouldnt fit on his 2wd. Any truth to that or are they just tryin to get to him? Thanks

I had an 08 work truck and an 07 new body style personal truck. Only differences were year and color, until i put a tire from personal truck on work truck to get to tire shop. It was smaller diameter and locked the wheel when i put it on. Maybe they are different sizes wheels and will run into similiar issues.

In his case...it shouldnt make a difference.
There are some wheels that arent designed for strait axle trucks. Not in his case.
The only difference that may effect it is if the wheels are lug centric or hub centric. Only diff there is the size of the hub hole.Ultramatic Feeders
