I love Nolan's approach. Pretty much my way or the highway. At this point, I'm fine with it either way although I'm leaning toward telling him adios.

I promise you that Nolan doesnt want him back. Nolan played through pain and stayed in games when he didnt have good stuff because he knew his team, owners and fans needed him to. He has no way to relate to a guy that misses important series down the stretch cuz they have allergies and knocked out too many red bulls. My eyes are too blue for day games just aint going to cut it on a Nolan Ryan designed team. I think he is giving Jon D a shot at it but isnt going to give him a lot of ammo to throw at Hamilton.

My opinion is that they should offer the 3 years at big money with a couple of option years, also with big money. That would be fair.

As far as the loyalty talk goes, Josh owes the Rangers and our community NOTHING. He was paid to play and most of the time he did. As a matter of fact, he performed on a really high level for relatively little pay. His loyalty needs to be to his family and that's it. If anyone on this board tells me they would approach it any differently I'd call you a liar.

My guess is that he'll sign a long term deal somewhere, have a couple of flashes of greatness, and be out of the game before his contract is up. My guess is that deal won't be in Texas.
Yeah we will see what he owes the organization when he goes and plays for another one. I hope I am wrong but I feel like Hambone is one wrong organization away from being back out of baseball. Just hope he aint back under a bridge too. If his family has any smarts they will push for him to stay here too.

According to Jamey Newberg, club officials have refuted that story. They have not set any parameters on negotiations with Hamilton or even discussed parameters internally. This was in the Newberg Report on 11/10.

Flufster, I agree with you. The best place for him to be is here. I think he knows that but I don't think it will play out that way. The money will talk. It always does.

Rangers need to low-ball everyones pay after the epic choke this season. I'm still sick about it. Maybe I'll become an Astros fan. They are already the worst team in baseball, so if they win I would celebrate, and if they lost, Oh well that was to be expected.

Josh Hamilton or not, it won't matter next year if they don't iron out the starting rotation and bullpen
