I'm trying to figure out a way to out-maneuver that ol' doe. The problem is that the only thing out there besides mesquite is a big coastal field. There are no natural barriers that would prevent a deer from coming in to a setup from any direction they want to. The best hope for that was my setup next to the stock tank, and that didn't work.

I'm as scent-free as I can get, but you can never get totally scent-free. I'd like to kill this doe with my bow, but getting in bow range downwind of her is proving to be difficult. I wish I had some big oaks to get up high in or some thick cedars to hide in along a trail coming into the feeder or something. But we have neither.

I could set up back off the trail a ways with my rifle and possibly get her. The only other thing I can think of would be to get an Ozonics unit and hope that it killed all my scent. I may try that first, as I've needed an excuse to buy one. If that doesn't work, then I'll set up with my Weatherby far enough downwind of the trail where she won't circle downwind of me (hopefully).
