    Masonry Question..

the previous owner of my house put in a gas rack in the fireplace.. they took out a brink from the bottom of the fireplace to run the propane line to outside. (used a small propane tank to fuel the insert). i prefer a wood burning and took the insert out. now i have a hole in the fireplace where 1 brick was removed.. how to i fix it?? i can take pictures if i need to..

I'm not a mason but i would think masonry cement? Lowes/home depot sells a bag of it. Just mix with water and trowel in. Hope a mason can chime in- i might be totally wrong

buy a fire brick from your local lumber yard, them mortar it in or use a good fire place chalk. Not sure what that stuff it called but I bought a tube several years ago to tighten up several bricks in my fire place
