I think academy has windham flattops on sale for like $710 right now. I have one and it shoots under moa easily. Not sure what you are looking for but itll be hard to beat that deal imo.

I have heard lots of good things about the windham arms. Don't think you will find much in the 600 price range though.

You are going to be hard pressed to find a quality AR in the $600 range.

I'm planning on getting one myself after the 1st of the year. Have several buddies who swear by the RockRiver. A little more than your budget but they're supposed to be extremely accurate.

I would check Academy to see what they have (Smith&Wesson M&P?) that might be affordable for you. Also go to www.bravocompanyusa.com and see if they have a rifle that will work for you- the BCM rifles are really nice; I use one of them as one of my predator guns. If they don't I'd join AR15.com and AR15Armory.com and patrol the classifieds. They're like monster gun shows for the AR15 platform and you will have an incredible resource for any questions you have.

Another route you can go is to build one from parts- it's easy. You can save some money this way and/or build a higher-end rifle cheaper. Plus, if money is a big issue, you can buy one part at a time and, basically, get your rifle on a payment plan. I think this is the route to go, personally, because it makes you infinitely more familiar with your weapon and if something ever breaks or goes wrong with it, you'll have an easier time diagnosing and fixing it. IF YOU GO THIS ROUTE - buy your lower receiver FIRST!! This part is what will go out of production for sure if they re-institute a ban and in buying frenzies (like the current one) these will be the hardest part to get your hands on.

Good luck and welcome to the addiction!

All the new at 600 will be carbon receiver not bad but you do not want to go out and cook of 100s of round at the range with these.

Well you can go cheap with a New Frontier Arms (polymer) complete Lower for $117.00 OTD and over on Midway USA, PSA and few others you can get a flat top for aound $300 without a BCG. Throw in another 100-120 for a BCG and you have an AR. This is a cheaper route if you wanted that.
Buy a stripped lower for around $100, DPMS or Del-ton Lower partks kit for around $50-60 and a stock, tube, spring and bugger for around $40-60 and build your lower.

These are just a couple of options that you have. Tons of different websites to get items from.

You can always do it cheap in pieces.. You'll never find a cheaper lower than the polymer ones

This was the cheapest upper I could find..

By the time you buy a magazine and bullets you have yourself an AR for under $500

It's not a "RRA" a "Colt" etc, but it will go bang when you pull the triger
