    Kansas Hunters.......

I'm looking to gain some information about some property I will be looking at this weekend.

North Central part of the state.......Natoma to be exact.

Anyone have any recommendations or opinions about the area?

What kind of terrain can I expect?

What kind of genetics in this area?

    Any information will be helpful.

    Thanks

Close town I guess would be Hayes, Ks.

It looks like it's in Osborne County.

I hunt north of Salina. rolling hills in places but lots of flat pasture land. great pheasant country. HUGE bucks - the milo and corn fields and winter make for a buffet that is available about year around.

I have hunted in the Phillipsburg area in the past.
Flat farm land mostly. Hunt the creek & river beds along the corn fields.
We also knocked on the doors of farms and received approval to hunt for the week we were there (free) as long as we bowhunted only.
Most framers do not wnat rifle hunters for fear of losing cattle.

So when you say flat land, are we talking about hunting small patches of timber in bar ditches?

Or is there timber land scattered through the county?

This area was prairie with scatterd timber located primarily aorund the corn fields and along rivers and creek beds.
Everyone door we knocked on, agreed to let us bowhunt without paying a trespass fee during archery.
