Best way to approach relatives about hunting their property

Was talking to my aunt and uncle yesterday and they were asking me about my hunting and everything when it came up that my aunt just inherited 600+ acres in southeast Oklahoma. I asked how long it has been since it has been hunted and they said about 40 years for deer and about 25 for quail and birds. I probably should of asked then but I didn't. I will see them again on Wednesday and want to ask if I can go up and check it out and possibly hunt it next season. We have a great relationship and have always been very close. What would be the best way to approach the situation? Thanks!

Just ask, all they can say is no. I ask every one. Usually if you are just bowhunting, most people say yes.

Ask them. Don't forget to offer to work on fence lines etc. Earn your keep.

don't just ask them to hunt the place - Offer them to lease a spot on it to hunt next season - chances are since they are family that they will just offer it for free, but don't just ask if you can go hunt their place without any type of payment on your behalf whether you think they will offer it for free or not. Good luck! sounds like it might be a good deal for you

Straight up ask them while offering to do whatever work may be needed on the land. If you don't someone else will and they may not be the good steward of the land that it deserves.

you must have a different family/extended family then i was raised in....If any of my family had huntable land i would just say "hey jack, you gonna let me kill some deer on this place or what" 98% would say treat it like your own, have fun and call me if ya need help draggin one out. Only reason i say 98% is cause i got a couple aunts who are just flat out crazy
