Use this!!!!!! Hornady a-maxx. 750 grains. 12388 lbs of kinetic energy in a ballistic tip!!
Hell, not only will they be field dressed but quartered too!!!!!
a-max is not a ballistic tip.

I had a Rothdrum 50BMG. If I still had it I would use it on doe's and spikes. Neck shots...not body shots.

shot placement will be very important as it is a marginal caliber for deer.

                50BMGs are not so bad.....

I've kiled a deer with one. I shot. Deer fell dead. .50 hole all the way thru with minimal meat damage. Not bad recoil, gun weighs 37 pounds.

Now that muzzle blast is something else....

in reality the bullet will leave a perfect .50 hole through and through.

if any one has shot a varmint at close range with a high calibur rifle (win mag or similar) with a deep penetrating bullet knows that the bullet just doesnt have time to exand, leaves very little holes.

                      Sure why not?
I would be real careful of your backdrop though. A few years ago, a lady got shot in the arm with one while she was at the Texas Motor Speeway. The shooter was 5 miles away and when he heard she had been shot, he turned himself in- total accident, no charges filed, but the bullet went over his berm. Even I was surprised at how far away he was.

use fmj for deer anything ballistic tipped will destroy meat.

I think it would be a great long range hog gun.

I've haven't used my .50 on varmints yet, but my .270, 7mm, and all my .300s turns prairie dogs inside out any range I've hit them.
