Uverse has wireless dvr now. Might be just what you are looking for. The majority of the newer homes up here are either Uverse or Fios. From my experience, they are just like everything else. One of my coworkers has told me that he has satellite tv because they couldn't get the Uverse signal strong enough at his house for tv and Internet at the same time.

From what I understand (I have Fios), Uverse is basically just better DSL run over existing lines. If that's the case, your specter net speed and tv quality can definitely be affected by how far you are geographically from your local switch.

EDIT: maybe it's just a receiver.

i will tell you i work with the guys that install uverse. it all depends on how it is installed. if the guy takes his time and does it right it will be great. you can get one box it can be a dvr, but it can not be a wireless box.

Correct. There will be an RG that will have to be hardwired. Then the DVR will have to be hardwired to the RG in some way shape or form. After that you can have a maximum of two wireless boxes. I currently work for ATT as a Prem Tech installing Uverse. Distance from the vrad (neighberhood box), what kind of inside wiring your house has, and the tech that installs it has a lot to do with how well it works.

Uverse is the best cable provider IMO. I would get Direct TV second, and would shoot myself if TW was my only option. Moved to a house where Uverse isn't available, and couldn't do the Direct Tv contract because I'm renting and don't want to be tied down to it. Unfortunately I have to put up with TW until I move, and I have nothing but problems with it.
