    Another lesson learned.

This morning was starting off on the right foot for me. I climbed up in to my perch in the limbs and settled in, at about 7:00 I had a spike walk within seven yards of me. I am still looking to take my first deer with my bow however he was not on the menu. Later that morning I watched several deer run back and forth through a small opening about ninety yards out never realizing a doe slipped in behind me. I turned around as she was headed down wind of me and the feeder, it took her a while but she convinced herself that it was safe to come in and take a few bites. At 20 yards I finally get drawn, anchored and settled down. (I have not been able to do that all season) As she offered me a slightly quartering away shot I let it fly. Thank God I had four layers of shirts on, because I think I ripped off three of them!!! When the bow string hit my arm the arrow sailed right over her back and she was gone. Dang it!!!! I am always forgetting something, or so my wife says.

Addict, that certainly brings back memories. Keep at it, it'll all come together.

But look at it this way, you won't be doing that again!

Advice is usually what life has taught others.
Experience is what life teaches you.

Now you have both, and now I will be checking for that.

I bet it sounded like a 22 going off as well.

We've all done it, mark it up as a lesson learned the hard way.

            You'll get another chance.

You know how to tell a seasoned bowhunter??? Not from the amount of animals they have taken, but by the number of mistakes they have made in shot situations.

Many, Many of us have made this one. I carry those thick rubber bands in my fanny to keep the sleeves on my upper arm out of the way.

Bowhunting is suppose to be hard.

Huntindad uses electrical tape and just wraps his arm up before the hunt.

                Pretty good idea.

LOL.Been there done that. I take a old worn out dark sock and cut a hole out of the bottom. Then slip it on my forearm.

Addict I m a great shot and have killed lots of deer. But if it is a real nice buck I might as well just throw the bow at them becuse I seem to always screw it up somehow. LOL hang in there and it will all come together.
