My mom told me last night she wanted a pistol!!!! 
My mom has never been a gun person. She doesn't hate guns but just never had any interest in them for anything. My step-dad own guns & hunts & my little brother and I live for the woods. My wife and I both have our CHL and shoot regurlarly. We were all eating dinner last night and my brother came in from hunting and was telling me about the hog that chased him up a tree last week and I told them I don't go in the woods with my pistol in case a spook some hogs or cat or something. Then he went on to try and convince her that he needs a pistol and then she said "I want to get a pistol." I was in shock!!! Very pleased but in awe that she said that. My step-dad is working south of San Antonio on an oil rig and bought him a pistol a couple of weeks ago to carry in his truck and now she wants one to carry in her vehicle. She told me she wants to go to the range and practice and I was ecstatic!!! My mom and I have always been very tight and I can't wait to share this interest with her. I don't know if she'll want to get her CHL or not but this is a start!!!!
She'll be 50 next Saturday and we're throwing her a surprise party so I might try and talk my step-dad into getting her a pistol for her birthday.
