    DPS Patrol Boats

I moved down to Corpus Christi about 5 months ago after a sudden change in my relationship status (7 year engagements are a bad idea).

Want to just take sometime off and do a lot of fishing so I bought a boat and I have been fishing and not much else. Last week me and a buddy were out fishing when two DPS patrol boat came flying by us, they were heading south into the land cut just past Baffin bay.
These things are AWESOME. The Texas DPS recently purchased 6 armored patrol boats. Each armored hull boat is outfitted with three 300 hp outboards, 4 FN 7.62 machine guns mounted tandem in armored gun turrets, 1 grenade launcher, and 2 .50 caliber Barrett Sniper Rifles.
I had seen them in pictures but to see two of them in action was great.

I posted a picture of my new ride and one of the new DPS boat I found online.

My boat: 20 foot Explorer Attack-A-Flat with Yamaha 115 4 stroke (runs crazy skinny).

Wicked boats, one of the troopers here locally is putting in for a transfer to be on the Tactical Marine Unit. He is former Coast Guard so it is right up his ally.

Now all they need is a submarine.

They've been around for a couple years now and cool things for sure.
A friend got to talk with a officer that works on one of the boats and he asked him what he does all day and the officer said they drive around for a hour or 2 and then spend the rest of the day cleaning the boat and the guns. Every single day. Not as productive as I hoped haha
