Another spread question.

This buck was definitely legal last year and this is the only picture I have that is decent from this year. The angle of the picture has me questioning if he is 13 inches. If I get some more looks at him and decide he is definitely 13 he would be a deer my 10 year old son would be after for his first buck.

Hard to tell by that angle but he looks legal. The left antler appears beyond the ear. As long as the right antler is the same he is legal.

I'd say he is to close to shoot from that picture. I would sure hate for my sons first deer to be illegal if it were me. IMO

Whats the purpose of the shingles under the feeder?

Last year during the drought the deer had wallowed a hole out under the feeder. This is at my mom's feeder and my stepdad got tired of filling it in.
