Have you heard of these new broad heads??

The Trophy Taker Ulmer Edge Broad Heads. I've heard they are the latest and greatest. I found some articles on them and they sounded pretty promising. Has anyone heard anything about them or hunted with them?

For years I was not a fan of expandable broadheads. Shot a few last year and several this year. Shot a mature 8 point in Mason with the ulmer head 2 weeks ago. Penetration was fantastic as arrow blew through and hole was good sized. Do feel the 3 blade grim reaper I used on other deer put more blood on the ground but the ulmer head deer only went 50 yards. Also, they fly really well. I would use them and in my opinion are better concept/mechanics than rage.

I think I'm going to order some! I'm kind of sick of the rage. Try something new.

I think Ulmer is my least favorite bowhunter, so I am not a fan of his copy cat namesake heads

But if they do a good job, that shouldnt matter.

x2 Just another knock off copy cat product. But if they have been made to be more durable with thicker blades then maybe they could be better than Shwacker..... I'm not a fan of expandables though...

You are right, but they cost less than an ALLEN broadhead at 6x the price because they put his name on them, so I will pass regardless. Did you know that Cabelas makes the most popular broadhead reproduction models with a much lower cost than the mainstream broadhead? Too many flock to the name, but that is all you pay for when you add the extra $12-$15, is the name.
